I’ve watched this and the video on lithium batteries but quite honestly Kat, I find the whole concept of off gridding a complete mystery still! For an idiot such as I, could you do a video where you arrive on site and show us exactly what you do because my husband is so anti off grid as he says we couldn’t last a night! Ie, no telly no netflicks, no starlink, and he has a sleep pap machine which require a three pin ac mains feed. 😢. (That where I thought the eco flow would work)…Recently we were in a site that was metered and we used £6 a night on electric (which I found quite a shock given we only watched to in the dark and ran his sleep machine), but I feel that we could have explored the “free” option already on the Motorhome!! It’s like trudging through sand getting through to my hubby 😅!

You can wild camp to your hearts content here in Scotland just use some common sense

I've randomly found you. Very enjoyable and informative. :) Cute pup. I have two old cats, which is why I don't want a towable RV. If you haven't chucked the fridge door shelf, maybe you can use stick-on picture hooks, at various angles, (or the sticky tape that comes with them) to get it to work again. I'm hoping to pick up a 19' RV, with rear kitchen and wet bath, next weekend. Anything I really, really want, is either too far away or gone by the time I can get to it. Cheers. Guys, for anyone whose interested - Starlink are brining out a DC/12V mini dish this year designed for RV's/camping. Very affordable according to early reviews.

Thanks for the review! I have been using TomTom GPS units for any years, the latest being the Go Camper 6" earlier version (bought in 2019). I have been entering many of my own places, which are great to keep track of on the maps. Combined with the TomTom Mydrive app on smartphone, it is a great help when planning e trip. I will have to replace my unit after as it has been stolen 2 weeks ago (along with many other items) in our camper. I will no doubt go for this 7" version. Staying with TomTom I will keep the many addresses memorised as "My Places" in my TomTom account. Going from 6 to 7" will definitely a nice "plus".

Help! Im confused, you have a trailer so is it just towing caravans the aires have an issue with or any form of trailer ie your motorbike trailer or car on a trailer or even an A frame car? is there anyway to know where a trailer may be accepted (excluding motorways)

I have had 900 amp hours of LiFePO4 batteries for 7 years in my RV. The difference between LiFePO4 and lead acid is like comparing a Bic lighter to rubbing two sticks together to make a fire.

To raise the temperature of your battery or keep it warm, use a wrapped hot water bottle if the weather is cold enough that the system will fail. Same with gas.

Awesome video Kat! I love the honesty of it all :). A great space to live in with everything you need! We use 'really useful' boxes and packing cubes to keep the cupboards somewhat organised but I can imagine if you are living in your van so much that it could be frustrating ;). Not sure why you need an iron though, haha. Ian

Hi Kat. Thanks for the tour around you van. Just a quick question, in your video you mentioned that you swapped out your leisure battery for a Lithium one, why did you do that? And does this have an effect on your insurance? I only ask as so many transport providers refuse to allow lithium batteries onboard. Regards Andy

Powered vehicles cannot tow powered vehicles in the EU, must be trailers, fined in Switzerland and wifey had to drive the car, now have a trailer..

We have the same van and like you found the made up u-shape bed very uncomfortable. It sinks in where the slats are. I see you got your mattress from "my bespoke mattress". Can you tell me which mattress you chose and what the mess are for the 3 sections. It would really help us to know the right sizings as like you we have the coffee table part over the Sargent box. Did you remove that cushion too to fit the mattress section in?? You didn't show that section. Thank you for your help Kat. 😊

I am still not sure how one gets clothes & dogs dried out when they are absolutely sodden - you look as if you have loads of cupboard space which is brilliant but in the recent monsoon rains when I was driving the NL250 it was a nightmare!! It needs something hung overhead but where & how?? Nellie would NOT go in one of those drying bags - she even scowls at me if I put her towelling coat on!! Any tips??

Lovely tour of your motorhome, thanks you have given me some ideas. I have just made a small shelf that goes above my bed for a mug and my mobile phone, some inserts for the shower cupboard to stop things felling out and I’m covering the splash back in the shower room to jazz it up.

Hi Kat, regarding booking a campsite in advance, I would advise anyone to book directly with the campsite rather via a platform like Pitchup. In doing so, you will avoid some bad surprises and may get it cheaper.

Your brake issue was probably caused by using the brakes too much on the descent. This causes the brake fluid to boil (because it overheats - hence the smell) and lose all it's hydraulic properties and creating air bubbles which are compressible and therefor rendering the system useless. The key is to always use engine braking on descents and only use the actual brakes minimally and for short periods to allow the fluid to cool down. This applies to any vehicle, but obviously more critical the higher the weight of the vehicle. This is why most heavy duty vehicles use an auxiliary electric or air braking system to aid the hydraulic system. Excellent video again, thank you for your dedication.
